Some Finishes

Hello again. I suck at blogging…. Here are two finishes to appease you.

The first is by Ink Circles. It was stitched on Tiger Tail fabric by Stab n Stitch. The colors are much more vibrant in person. I used DMC 310 (black) since the fabric is colorful and the design is busy.

The next piece is Midnight Ride by Blackbird Designs. I left off the lettering because I am just not into alphabets appearing randomly on designs. Not my style… Which is funny because I plan on starting Love Letters: Art Nouveau  by Ink Circles soon. Anyways, this piece was stitched on 40 count Muffin Top fabric by HDF (Vikki Clayton hand Dyed Fibers) using HDF dark grey floss from a detritus bag, Rubbed Orange, and Rubbed Hare. None of these items are available anymore with the exception of the chart.

Also, I am happy that I can read html code because Word Press was being a pain today for some reason.

So I did not spend any money this month… But I have had little time to stitch. Husband gave me a lovely stitching related Valentine gift but it did not arrive until this month. I will post a picture next blog post. So here is my update on the birdies.

A New Start: Silent Night by Lizzie Kate

A New Start: Silent Night by Lizzie Kate

The fibers were all subbed from my Vikki Clayton/Hand Dyed Fiber detritus packs on an unknown piece of fabric I had kickin’ around. I normally don’t stitch Lizzie Kate stuff but I thought this was cute… I like owls. Well birds in general. The two sets of progress pics are not my usual types of projects. I guess I have been in a birdie sort of mood lately. I think my next start will be Turtles All the Way Down by Ink Circles. I like quirky projects.

Eggs!

Eggs!

I love the eggs in the Marjolein Bastin designs. This design is a fairly straightforward stitch. No pesky blends or partial stitches.

Stitching Update

So my attempt at blogging back in 2012 was a dismal failure. So here I am for round two. I actually finished Love Letters and several other projects.

For 2014 I would like to finish:

  1. No Vacancy by Marjolein Bastin
  2. Summer by Bent Creek (Making up the title because the pattern is at work)
  3. Little Snapdragon by Kustom Kraft

I have a ton of other WIPs but frankly if I can get those done I will be so very happy. I am all about stitching what makes me happy right now. Screw all of my WIPs! They can bite me. I am stitching what I want to when I want to (I am so mature…). After all, anytime I set up goals for stitching I fail miserably.

For 2014 I would like to start:

  1.  Turtles All the Way Down by Ink Circles
  2. Boo-ltimore by Ink Circles
  3.  The Smell of Sulfur by Ink Circles
  4. Holiday Magick by Ink Circles
  5.  Love Letters – Art Nouveau by Ink Circles
  6.  Random Ornament 1
  7.  Random Ornament 2
  8. Random Ornament 3
  9. Happy Hunting by Bent Creek
  10. Spells’ Store by The Primitive Hare
  11. What ever I want too!

WIPocolypse projects continued

Of course I forgot to charge my cell phone today… so I can’t show pictures of my WIPocoplypse updates 😦 However, I already have my first finish of the year. The finished piece is Michael Powell’s Lighthouse #3. To be honest though all I had left was the backstitching which went very quickly. I have been working on Love Letters- Celtic by Ink Circles. I started it on January 3rd and hope to finish it within a few days. I am loving the project and the fabric is gorgeous. I have not made any changes to it.

So about my WIPocolypse and stitching. Life is crazy right now and I haven’t done any serious stitching for months. I am using this SAL as a way to get me stitching again…because lets face it, I am a much better person when I relax and stitch for a bit. So I am not declaring my list ahead of time and I might even start new projects. I will, however, stitch from my stash. I have plenty of fabric, charts, and various skiens of floss to keep me busy for years. Also, many of my WIPs are just to complicated for my overtaxed brain right now. I attempted to work on TW’s Princess and the Dragon the other evening and I just kinda stared at for a few minutes before giving up.

My WIPocaplyse list is as follows:

Quacksworth – Ink Circles
